Lucas Louis was born in Brasil, a year after his parents, a Swiss designer and an English artist, arrived by ship to the coast of São Paulo. He grew up encouraged to look with the eyes of those who discover a new world. As a teenager, he adopted photography as his main means of expression. Then he added the movement to the frame. He studied cinema in Rio de Janeiro and soon started to work as a news cinematographer. He traveled the world, always looking for a new documentary look, and took film courses in Switzerland and England. Today he is based in New York, where he works as a correspondent for TV Globo and develops, in parallel, personal projects of documentary photography throughout the streets of the city.
